Early development & research in diabetes, metabolism or obesity studies. Discovery through Phase I and into Phase II.
The physician will be working with Pharmaceutical companies to design & define the protocol for Phase I, recruitment of patients and monitoring and analyses of data. Someone from the academia is ideal.
Qualifications :
Board Certified MD in Internal medicine with research experience in diabetes, metabolism or obesity.
The ideal candidate would be trained in internal medicine with a fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism and have a background in clinical research with an understanding of glucose clamp techniques. An unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of California will be necessary and strong clinical skills are required. An understanding of clinical pharmacology and the principles of drug development are a plus.
